Sailing at Stewartby

Sailing at Stewartby is open to everyone — from complete beginners to experienced racers. Our sailing community enjoys a mix of training, social sessions, racing, and youth activities, all run in a friendly and supportive environment on the lake.

Our RYA-accredited Sailing School runs courses for adults and juniors, helping newcomers and members develop practical skills and confidence on the lake.

Lean to Sail

Racing at Stewartby is open to all levels, from beginners to experienced sailors. We run regular series, cup events, and fun formats throughout the season.

Stewartby Water Sports Club is a Royal Yachting Association Recognised Club — meaning our sailing activities, safety practices, and management meet national standards set by the sport's governing body.This ensures every activity, from relaxed sailing to racing, runs safely under qualified supervision. For members, it brings confidence in our governance and inclusivity; for visitors, it guarantees a trusted, well-run environment on and off the water.

Stewartby is also an RYA-Recognised Training Centre, authorised to deliver official RYA sailing and powerboating courses.This accreditation confirms that our instructors are RYA-qualified, our boats are well-maintained, and our training follows national syllabuses. Learners progress through structured courses recognised across the UK and internationally — all within a friendly, supportive environment.
