Our fleet is available for members to use free of charge on Saturday, Sunday, and Wednesday evenings when safety cover is present.

Boats are available on a first-come, first-served basis, but members must:
- Obtain permission from the OOD (Officer of the Day) before taking a boat
- Complete a hire form before and after use — this helps track usage and report any issues
Hire forms are located in the Race Hut. If you're unsure, the OOD or a committee member will be happy to point you in the right direction.
Once you're finished sailing, please complete the second part of the hire form and report any damage or missing kit. This helps us keep the fleet in good condition and ready for everyone to enjoy.
Here are all the boats available for members to use free of charge.

The ILCA 7 is versatile enough to be sailed by sailors of various weights in light winds, but as the wind strength increases, it becomes more suitable for heavier sailors.

These versatile and stable dinghies are well-suited to a wide range of sailors and conditions. Whilst raced a double-hander, they can accommodate up to 5 young sailors or 4 adults, making them ideal for beginners, families, and training groups.

Lightweight, simple, and fun to sail, the Topper is a fantastic single-hander for juniors and smaller adults. Its durable construction and responsive handling make it ideal for learning the basics, building confidence, or just enjoying a breezy blast around the lake. A popular pathway class, it's also great for those looking to progress into more advanced boats like the ILCA.

The ILCA 4 uses a slightly pre-curved lower mast to ensure a balanced helm, combined with a sail area 35% smaller than the ILCA 7. This rig is ideal for the lighter-weight sailor transitioning from the Optimist.
Whether you’re learning to sail, racing regularly, or just looking to enjoy time on the water, joining the sailing section is the best way to make the most of what Stewartby has to offer.
