Spring is just around the corner, and its time to get our club ready for another fantastic season on the water!
In keeping with club tradition, morning racing on the Sunday of the AGM (March 1st) will be replaced by our first Working Party of the year. This is a crucial day to set the section up for the months ahead, giving us our first opportunity to review and prepare our boats and club assets.
Below is the list of jobs we need to tackle. Because these are distinct activities, we would love for a volunteer to step up and lead each task.
Tasks for the Day:
Jetty sections: Sort the sections on the grass, inspect for hazards, and fix down the matting. (Andy Bunyan is leading this activity)
Paddle-board jetty: Break out the initial section to allow for dismantling, and remove plant growth between the sections.
Tyre disposal: Drain accumulated water from the tyres and move them to the disposal skip. Please bring a cordless drill (with a 10-15mm bit) to help drain the water! Note: We need a few strong backs for the heavy lifting on this task.
Boat garages: Sweep out leaves and collect them into dumpy bags.
Container cleanup: Clear out debris from behind the container.
Timber prep: De-nail timbers beside the container, stack them inside to dry, and inventory their sizes. (These will eventually form the roof for the space between the container and the garages).
Grounds cleanup: Clear rubbish around the bonfire site and the recent high-water strand line.
