Please remember to sign-up for your duties this year

Dear Member,

As we sail full-force into the Spring / Summer season, a reminder to allocate yourself to a duty.

As a volunteer-run club, it is important that we all share in the work of the club. Signing-up for a duty is easy when logging into the portal, and accessing the duty roster.

We ask that all members and parents of junior members do two Sunday duties between April and October. If you wish to qualify for the club championship, an additional duty is required on one of the 4 championship race days. If you are not planning to enter the club championship, please prioritise the duty slots for those who are.

Alongside this, we also run our Social Sailing Saturday events and Taster Sessions throughout the year on Saturday's - both of these require a safety boat crew. So, if you are interested in supporting these events, please do sign-up for a duty.

Remember that to operate a powerboat, you must hold at least a RYA Powerboat Level 2 qualification. You can be a crew on a safety boat without this.

If you do not sign-up for a duty, our Duty Manager (Ian Pasquet) will assign you a duty at random. If this is not suitable for you, you can use the online system to request a duty swap with other members.
