Sailing Committee
Your current sailing section committee consist of active sailing members who volunteer their time to help run the sailing section of the club. They are here to help so please feel free to contact them if you have any queries.
Our committee members have different roles to help spread the load and help give focus to any queries which may arise. Please take a look at the attached document to get to know who is part of the committee, what roles they hold, and how to contact them
Open Roles
The sailing section is run entirely by volunteers. From maintenance to junior coaching and social events, the club runs because members step forward to help. We list current open roles here and we always welcome expressions of interest, even if the perfect role isn't shown today.

Secretary
The sailing secretary keeps our sailing section running smoothly by coordinating meetings, sharing updates, and making sure plans and records stay on track.

What's involved
- Prepare and share agendas and minutes for committee meetings.
- Help run the Sailing Section AGM, including notifying members.
- Share updates and information with members across our usual channels.
- Coordinate the annual calendar and members handbook.
- Maintain records.
What you'll need
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic IT confidence (email, Teams, uploading documents).
- Enthusiasm for supporting sailing at the club.
Support
- Handover from the outgoing Secretary.
- Ongoing support from the Sailing Committee.
- Existing templates and resources to make the role manageable.

Boat Bosun
The Boat Bosun helps keep our club fleet and equipment in good condition. You don't need to be an expert just practical and willing to help coordinate repairs and upkeep.

Look after the club boats and equipment, making sure everything is maintained and ready for members and sailing school to use.
What's involved
- Check and maintain club dinghies, safety boats, and equipment.
- Organise small repairs or flag when professional work is needed.
- Keep an inventory of equipment and spares.
- Work with the committee to plan for replacements or upgrades.
What you'll need
- Basic DIY or practical skills
- Willingness to coordinate with other members for bigger jobs.
- Enthusiasm for helping keep our fleet in good shape.

Class Helpers take responsibility for one type of boat in the club fleet. You'll carry out repairs, do routine checks, and help keep the boats safe and usable. This is a hands-on role that makes a real difference — keeping the fleet in good condition for both members and the sailing school.
