Boats moved due to flooding

Dear Member,

As I'm sure you are aware, the lake is at the highest level it has ever been. Currently, the water level has reached well into the dinghy park on the clubhouse side, and there are a number of obstructions covered by the water.

To minimise any potential damage with more rain and wind forecast over the coming days, a number of members have helpfully moved some of the boats that were floating or at risk of floating from the increased water level. However, some of these have not yet been tied down into new temporary locations. One boat was unfortunately too far into the water and too heavy to move.

The pictures in our recent mailing (you can view here) show boats that were moved and left in the dinghy park as of Saturday evening and the one that was unable to be moved. If any of these are yours, please come down to the club to inspect it and to find an appropriate space for it to be tied down.

A working party is happening today (29th September) where some of these boats may be tied down on your behalf, however we would encourage all members to come down and check on their boats.

If you have any questions, please reach out to Adam Fox (dinghy.park@stewartbywatersportsclub.co.uk) who is running the working party today and will have the latest information.

Kind regards,
Your Sailing Committee
