Free members powerboat level 2 direct assessments
On the 21st March 2020 we will be having a direct assessment day FREE of charge to members. These assessments are for anyone who drives a powerboat regularly at Stewartby but does not have a qualification. The assessment will be the same assessment that is completed at the end of the Level 2 powerboat course, the following will be covered:
- coming alongside a jetty
- high speed manoeuvres
- man over board
- turning in a confined space
- holding off next to a buoy
Each assessment will take approximately 30 minutes, so you will not need to be there for the whole day.
If you would be interested please can you either email firstname.lastname@example.org and then I can arrange timings based upon numbers. Please do also get in touch if this is something that you would be interested in but are unable to make the date.
Free safety boat training
Also free to members this year is a one day safety course. This will cover how to complete a rescue duty at Stewartby including how to rescue various different dinghies. This is for members who already have their level 2 powerboat qualification (if you don't, read on to find out how you can gain yours). Members will then have the option to continue the course on a second day for £75 to gain their RYA Level 3 Safety Boat qualification if they wish. This will take place on the 4th April and 25th April, please email email@example.com with your preference on dates.
Free powerboat level 2 course
If you do not have much/any experience driving a powerboat, you can complete the 2 day level 2 powerboat course, this course is free to members in exchange for an additional 4 duties a year, for the next 2 years. These courses will take place on the 14/15th March and 28/29th March.
