Following the Government restrictions announced on March 23rd, the lake and clubhouse are closed, but the grounds remain open for member's use. Please note Government restrictions and guidelines on social distancing.

Membership renewals

In these uncertain times your Water Sports Club needs you more than ever before. If you value your club I urge you to renew your membership so that "not for profit" Water Sports remains available in 2021 and beyond.

Firstly, to those that have already renewed their membership, "THANK YOU."

Some of you may be concerned about your immediate income and may be considering deferring payment of your membership. The impact of that would be to disrupt the club's cashflow to the extent that fixed costs may not be met. We understand that some members face huge financial insecurity and will be unable to remain part of our Stewartby Water Sports family. We are very sad to be losing you but look forward to welcoming you back in the future.

Renewing your membership at this difficult time will help to ensure that when the Coronavirus pandemic is over and the country returns to some sense of normality you still have a club to come to, to participate in your chosen sports.

If anyone has any particular problems with payments please contact the Membership Secretary for your section. The club Treasurer ( may also be contacted.

Membership Benefits

As a member of a unique club I hope you will want to be a part of ensuring the future. Volunteers run our club as a "non for profit" organisation which means it charges members as low a fee as possible and runs on a break-even basis. The club does not hold large cash reserves.

In addition to the 200 acres of water there are secure grounds and a private clubhouse for the exclusive use of members. This is a haven in the midst of an ever-crowded landscape where open access land is at a premium and tends to get overcrowded at popular times. Add to this the camaraderie within and between section members, the fun, fitness and emotional wellbeing from participating in your chosen sport and associated events. Opportunities also exist to gain qualifications, socialise, camp, store boats and caravans, and park cars. All of this is on our doorstep, and available only to members.

What is being done 'behind the scenes?'

Your volunteer management and section committees are working hard behind the scenes to:

*keep all members safe

*manage the premises and grounds to maintain our amenity

*follow advice from the government, Sport England and other relevant organisations

*manage our finances to ensure longevity of the club beyond 2020

Yours Sincerely,

Your Management Team
