Throughout the year the club hosts a number of special events where we aim to make racing that bit more enjoyable and appeal to the wider membership, not just the seasoned racers.
Short Course Racing
An event open to all members, where one can experience the thrill of short course racing. The emphasis is on the start, as these races consist of a Windward, Leeward course of only two laps with a gated Leeward mark.
A great way for newer members to racing to hone the starting skills and enjoy the fast paced fun of Short Course Racing.
This event, in the summer, starts Friday Evening with fun on the water, BBQ and Camping and goes through to Sunday evening, the bar is open all weekend and the BBQ's are lit for use at your leisure..
It is enjoyed by many members, but also open to other clubs, members friends and families.
The purpose of the Regatta is to have fun, enjoying sailing, racing, fun races, such as "RS Feva Paddling" with kids football, Bouncy Castle, football Etc.
Ever fancied sailing in the dark?
The moonlight race takes place in September as part of a wider social evening and barbecue at the club. Starting while still light, racing takes place while the sun sets and the darkness of the night decends.
The race lasts around 90 minutes with prizes awarded to the winners and the best-lit boat.

Boxing Day Hangover Race
A one-race event for the Hangover Trophy and silly seasonal prizes.
Perfect for blowing away the excess pudding. Meet up afterwards for some turkey butties and some festive drinks.
