Phantom Open at Northampton Sailing Club

Andrew Gregory reports from the Northampton Phantom Open that took place on the 3rd July.

The 2010 midland traveller’s series kicked off at Northampton Sailing Club on the 3rd July. The fleet included a number of ex-national & inland champions and even a former Laser World Champion.

The wind was 6-15knots and the temperature in excess of 20 degrees. The shifty conditions meant that it was a true day a snakes and ladders with big gains & losses to be made on most legs of the course.

After three races Simon Childs counted two bullets to win the event ahead of supporting SWSC members, John Wayling in 5th, Andrew Gregory in 9th and Ian Sullivan in 18th place.
