Icicle Series Week 7

The one thing that stands out about Sunday 4th March is that it rained all day. It was certainly cold too, but the morning’s race was started in light conditions so the cold didn’t seem so severe. However, as the race developed the breeze increased in strength and swung 180 degrees. Not enough of a change to affect the fortunes of the cats, but enough to make recovering the boats on a lee shore pretty hairy.

After lunch, the wind remained high and blew straight down the lake and was now mixed with hail. Congratulations to Harry Janes for picking-up a win in Race 1 and Robert Finch for Race 2. Tim Browning & Ruth Ivory have 7 races under their belt and are in a strong position for the series.

Results have now been published. Thanks to Ian Howard (RO) and Karl Pountney and Chris Janes in the support boat.
