Firework Night – November 3rd

The club will be hosting its annual firework night on the evening of Saturday November 3rd. The bonfire will be lit at 7pm and the fireworks will start from 7.30pm.

This year the event will be seeking donations to cover its costs. £3 per person or £5 per family are the suggested amounts.

Family Sailing Day & Safety Boat Practice – 29th September

A quick reminder that the last Family Sailing Day of 2012 will take place this Saturday from 1pm. This is a great chance to get on the water and enjoy sailing with your friends and family.

Sailing Section Duties July 2012 – Action Required!

We have to report that due to the lack of a safety boat crew, recreational sailing had to be cancelled on Saturday 30th June leading to sailors taking to the water without cover. This is a very disappointing situation and reflects a growing concern with duty cover over the coming weeks.

We know from our records that there are a large number of members who have not committed to a duty this year and with many gaps in the coming weeks there is a real risk of activities being cancelled or severely limited.

We have vacancies for most most weekends in July and we urgently need members to come forward to fill them. Following our successful summer photographic competition, we’re pleased to announce a new competition this autumn. We want to encourage members to take and share even more photographs and this time the finals will be held at the Laying-up Supper on November 26th.
