This year’s laying-up supper was a great success with over 90 members celebrating yet another successful year for the club. Who could forget the surprise award of ‘Top Crew’ to Fiona Denchfield, “The Sailing School” rendition of ‘Hey Jude’, our Vice-Commodore in Black-Tie or the curious appearance of 100 rubber ducks.

The autumn series began with some fine sunny weather and a light variable breeze.

As with previous years the autumn series relies on volunteers and the competitors taking part. Very shortly we will publish the duty list on the website so you can let us know what weekend you wish to help out.

On September 29th, local bird-watchers were delighted to see the rare Leach Petrel on the lake. The sighting was amid the noise and commotion of the Powerboat Section’s event.
