It is important during the winter months that boats left in the Dinghy Park are properly tied down to prevent damage to the boat and other member’s boats nearby. We’ve had strong winds over the last two or three days and sadly a number of boats have come off their trolleys and had [...] We have updated the membership fees section of the website with the new rates for 2011. There has been a small increase which adds £4.03 for a family, £3.62 for an individual member, students in full-time study £1.23 and 87p for a Junior. There has been no increase in the boat park space fee of £25 and the joining fee for new members for 2011 is £36. Read on for a table of fees. Please can you check the renewal form carefully to ensure all the information is correct and make any alterations necessary on the form prior to returning it? Renewals will need to be marked for the attention of Jane Pilkington, [...] Like previous year’s the club is putting on a Firework display and bonfire eventing on Saturday 6th November. The bonfire will be lit at 7pm with the fireworks shortly afterwards. The event is free to members and accompanied guests. You will remember that in the last Windshift we asked members to vote in respect to a proposed rule change to the club’s sailing instructions regarding long-series entries. We can announce that 35 votes were cast which was 10 short of the number that we’d asked for and that of those votes cast: 16 [...] The Autumn Series begins on October 24th. In a change to the schedule the committee has arranged for a working party to take place on Sunday November 7th, the day after Bonfire Night. In order to make room racing has been cancelled on that weekend with a new date set for the last week [...] We are pleased to announce that Karen Pocock has been appointed to the role of Section Membership Secretary. She replaces Kevin Edwins who has looked after many new members over the last 2 years.
