Barney Proud has managed to obtain the Tasar demonstrator which was seen at the club earlier in the year. It is available for Boxing Day, Grafham Grand Prix and possibly for club racing in the early Icicle Series. For more details please contact Barney on 07951 019871.
Junior Instruction
Saturday Junior Coaching has been a great success this autumn with an average of 12 youngsters each week. Those taking part are seeing improvements to their sailing and some youngsters are progressing quickly towards being capable racers. Stewartby hosted the final Phantom class training event of 2009 on Saturday 12th December.
Four local boats were joined by visitors from Margate, Oxford, and North London. The training was conducted by current Eastern Area Champion, John Wayling, and former National Champion, Simon Childs.

For many, the Christmas Dinner was the highlight of the last day of the Autumn Series. Sarah Norman laid on a full 3 course dinner for the whole club after racing had finished. Nigel Denchfield has provided some photographs of proceedings and they’ve been placed in the website gallery.
The evening of Wednesday 9th December saw the inaugural Virtual Skipper regatta. With 24 entrants, competition was fierce and very competitive. Each heat comprised a single race around a windward-leeward course over two laps. The virtual boats were Melanges 24 keelboats equiped with a virtual spinnaker.
